Another Merger...........

Beckman Coulter the name is synonymous to life sciences industry, every one of us who have been a biotechnology graduate would have used their centrifuges as I did in my ME days some six years back and later in my on job research. Yesterday there was announcement that Beckman will be acquired by home grown Denaher which is into pharma diagnostics, dental consumables rest other instrumentation and it is diversifying into the pharma segment with its foot prints specifically in the clinical diagnostics and instrumentation......the deal is estimated to be worth $6.8 Billion......diversification is the mantra for survival of the fittest.

Incredible City of Joy!!!

Today writing different thing from regular strategy blog I have been doing for long. My full childhood was spent in Andaman’s and in mainland when I see tour packages for Andaman’s worth INR 40, 000.....I just wonder that I used to travel to all those islands for free , even my travel from Chennai to Portblair used to be in INR 400 which includes food and then up gradation from bunk to first class and special service in dockyard as being daughter of Capt Choudhury ......loved every moment of his Charisma....miss him a lot .......have just one wish that would like to travel with my future man to all those places where I have been with my father....thoughts apart I have been staying in Kolkata for a while and though we have right to blame present government for inflation but in health care and agriculture sector in West Bengal saw a great change, pulse polio campaign has been a huge success and there has been improvement in quality of roads in Kolkata...as the traffic jams don't last long.......and as I am planning to go into agriculture after some years in our lands outskirts of Kolkata.....I am hearing a lot about initiatives taken by agriculture department for the farmers by the farmers.....good going.....I am proud to be part of incredible India with dusty roads, street food...

E. coli......

I love E.coli for many reasons first of all its the most friendly bacteria and also deadly .....i loved working with many strains while doing my on job research .....i literally used to smell the flask with cultures in latent phase and used to love doing growth curve studies.....after so many years writing the truth as my ex boss might used to feel that i never liked it......research gave me at most satisfaction.......will later after some years venture into it....in this week business world update there was article about my favorite bacteria being used for data storage upto 100 TB. Earlier in 2007 the experiment was carried out by Japanese scientists , later subsequent work is been done by their chinese counterparts....so i hope to use my favorite bacteria for data storage in coming future
